Great Topics for Writing
Feb0
A lot of people love to write. For them, it is an expression of a current state of emotion, a portion of their thoughts about something that they want to share with others, or it could be a source of living especially for professional writers.
Regardless of the reason for writing, theres one particular area that needs immediate attention: what to write. And unless an editor in chief, a publisher, or somebody else can give you a topic to write on, more often than not, you are left in limbo, undecided which subject is enticing and interesting to discuss.
Fortunately, if you learn to explore every nook and cranny of life and of the world, youll know that you can never run out of something to write.
- Write about fantasy.
Why makes the subject of fantasy transcend time? It is the mere fact that it never fails to capture the imagination of its readers. The books of J.R.R. Tolkien, for example, are selling like hot cakes starting from the time they were released many years ago. Or you can just simply look at the enthusiastic eyes of children who cannot wait to get their hands on the latest instalment in the Harry Potter series.
In writing about fantasy, theres no limit for you. You can play around with words, use as much adjectives as possible, as well as play with your characters personalities, perhaps make them possess certain kind of powers. You can also explore the horridness and the magnificence of the story itself. You can describe landscapes that when, imagined, will always take any persons heart away.
- Talk about love.
Who doesnt fall in love in one way or the other? Who doesnt wish to meet his own princess or prince charming in their lifetime? Indeed, love is always a well-discussed, well-explained, and well-explored topics of all time; and their ability to leave hopeless romantics gush once in a while is never limited in writing.
What makes topics on relationships easy to do is that the plots are simple. You just develop a good pair of characters, a conflict or an antagonist, and a flowing and carefully structured outline of events thats it! Moreover, since events in love stories are so typical to everyday lives, a lot of people can relate to them and feel your characters.
- Excite your readers with adventure series.
Do you want to let your readers sit at the edge of their seats? Do you want them left hanging about the whole story? Why not develop a story revolving around adventure or action? You can take a good hint from classic Around the World in 80 Days or from its equally legendary counterpart called the Time Machine. Or perhaps from the controversial book that is later turned into a movie entitled The Da Vinci Code. They are always in demand simply because a lot of people can never get enough of the action-packed sequences of their story.
Writing something related to adventure or action doesnt require you to focus on flowery words. Instead, terms that denote action are utilized. Theres also less attention given to dialogues. Events must be carefully strewn together in order to continuously excite your readers.
- Share your experience.
In writing you can also let your readers view and sense a certain episode in your life. You can talk about your childhood and how much you love to climb those tall mango trees in your backyard. You may also discuss about the first time you get your heart broken, or failed miserably. Moreover, you can talk about rearing your kids, how you made your marriage work, or how you maintained that beautiful skin.
- Develop how-tos.
In line with sharing your experiences, you can also develop a list of how-to’s that can help readers improve their everyday living. You may be knowledgeable in carpentry and you can write something about how to create a workbench and other handicrafts.
