This article will discuss various ways you can keep your snail mail clean of junk through credit card application opt out, unsubscribing, and other means.

In today’ world mailbox seems like an outdated thing, especially since the dawn of the email. Certainly people don’t send as much letters out to their friends anymore, you simply send out txt messages, email, or even leave comments in their friend’s Facebook account. So why would anyone care about their mail box? It is true that email has replaced letter writing (though people still like writing letters because of the more intimate feel a letter has) but this just makes the stuff that is sent through snail mail even more significant. Most if not all spam is delivered through emails, the important documents, memos, and other letters are sent through snail mail. If your snail mail is inundated by junk then you risk misplacing these few important letters. Also, it is such a pain to sift through all the junk just to see which one’s are important. Not to mention the fact that you will save a lot of paper if you do some of these tips. If you are a supporter of environmental protection, then you and your friends should try these tips. All tips are free and costs you only a few minutes of your time.

The number one tip for cleaning up your mail of junk is to do a credit card application opts out. Perhaps you have noticed that a majority of your junk mail comes from credit card offers. These are “pre-approved” meaning that the creditors have found your credit score to be good enough for them to offer you a card. So how did they know your credit was good in the first place? They viewed your credit report. All you need to do is to give these three credit report agencies a call. These credit reporting agencies are namely Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. Just tell them that you want to do a credit card application opt out to block card companies from obtaining your mailing address. This will cut down approximately half of your daily junk mail.

Another great tip is to unsubscribe to those circulations that you don’t even remember subscribing to. Chances are that you never really did subscribe since some subscriptions are automatic. Call them up and tell them that you don’t want to receive any more of their brochures or updates and this will clean probably twenty percent of your daily junk mail.

Finally, aside from a credit card application opt out, you just have to remember to be careful when including your mailing address. Many times, surveys or service sign ups require you to put in your address. The truth is, most times, you don’t really have to. So just leave it blank. You can even put in a dummy address if you want.
