Your marriage is an event to remember forever, and you want to make it special so that you will only have fond memories whenever you look back to this big event in your life. You’ve hired the best caterers, selected the best venue, sent out the invitations, and your carefully selected bridal gown is almost ready, but did you think about which wedding shoes you will wear? You were thinking, ‘Don’t they come with the dress? Oops!’ Even the best gown’s effect will be ruined if your bridal shoes are inappropriate.

Not just any white sandals can do the job this day. You will be the center of attention at your wedding and people will pay attention to every detail about you. Believe it or not, that includes the bridal shoes you are wearing. Wear the wrong wedding shoes and you might hear murmurs in the aisle.

Go for shoe color that matches your dress: If you’re going to wear a white dress, go for white colored wedding shoes that complement the color of your dress. Don’t plan on wearing outlandish colors because they will stand out too much. Also make sure the bridal shoes complement your dress style. If you’re wearing a glitzy gown, simple white sandals won’t do. On the other hand if you’ve got the elegant white gown with the classic look, then glitzy sandals are going to look bad.

Wear the right size: You don’t want a nasty shoe-bite on your wedding day because you don’t want to limp back from the altar. Don’t wait for the last day to try out the bridal shoes. Buy them early on and wear them. Make sure they are nice and comfortable to walk in. Comfort is also an important requirement of your wedding shoes.

Wear the style you’re used to: If all your life you’ve worn flat heels, don’t wear high heels on your wedding day. On your wedding you want to walk with elegance and poise, not dawdle like a duck. If you wear a heel size that you’re not comfortable with, you won’t be able to walk well and it will show. Make sure you select the right bridal shoes that you’ll be comfortable in. It would be terrible if you added a couple of inches with really high heels, and then lost your balance while walking down the aisle. You don’t want people to laugh and grin every time they remember your wedding, do you?

Get good quality shoes: You’re probably going to wear them only once? Really? Well, don’t compromise and get bad quality bridal shoes just because of that. If the shoes are shoddy, they can break as soon as you take the first step. Yes! It has happened. Get the wedding shoes from a respectable source that has a history. If you’re buying online, look around for feedback and buy only from a reliable website. Not one that has the cheapest, shoddiest items. Good luck on your wedding, and walk smart.
