How To Give A Corporate Gift Without Crossing the Line

There is a fine line between showing bounteousness and brown-nosing, and although you do not want to cross it, you do want to pay respects to the one in charge, show recognition toward the secretary, or applaud another co-worker properly.

Maybe you want to impress the boss on National Boss Day, but you are not quite sure how much you should spend or which direction you should go, while remaining within those borders aforementioned. Alternatively, it is possible that you want to specially thank or congratulate a co-worker but you don’t know how to go about it. On the other hand, it is possible that you want to show your gratitude for the company secretary but you are not exactly sure what she is into. (And you know you can’t ask.) Whichever the case, you can show your congeniality and generosity through the simple act of giving a unique gift. Remember, though, you must be choosy, yet practical.

One of the most challenging aspects when it comes to gift giving within the confines of your workplace is when you want to give more than one gift in a short time span (maybe for the same occasion, so you can refrain from leaving anyone out). It is hard enough to find one unique gift, let alone two or more. Besides, you know how people talk – boy, do they talk! Everyone will know what you gave to so-and-so, and you know it’s going to get back to the Big Man, as well as to Uncouth Carl, and you can bet that Picky Pam will have already gotten the scoop before you even snag your first doughnut from the break room. And yes, they will compare their gifts, even if subconsciously. You don’t want to step on anyone’s feelings, right? Yet, you want to give your co-workers unique gifts to show that you are the type of person who cares enough to know each individual, and creative enough to overcome the obstacle of finding the right gifts to flatter them.

Before you waste a tank of gas driving around town, scoping out all the stores you’ve never dared to venture into before, and before you wear out the soles of your freshly polished Eccos by speed-walking the mall in desperate attempts to have some meaningless, generic gift wrapped and bowed by 9 o’clock closing, think outside the hideous plaid box.

When you get home tonight, after you have settled in and have some quiet time, get on your computer and Google the phrase "corporate gift baskets". You will find a vast array of corporate gift baskets from which to choose, meeting all your corporate gift-giving needs.
Solidify your dedication.
Exhibit your sophistication by giving something unique.
Give a gift that is as one-of-a-kind as you are.
