So you've picked out your numbers and bought your lottery ticket. Now what? How do you know if you've won? There are many ways to find out if your numbers are winners. The most obvious way is to watch the numbers drawn on the nightly news.

Watch Your Local News

In most states, lottery numbers are drawn and displayed on the local nightly news. To find out which local news channel has your winning lottery numbers, you could just flip through the channels hoping to come upon the lotto results. If you want an easier way to find out which stations broadcast lottery results, simply log onto your official lottery website.

Log Onto the Internet

Not only will you find which stations broadcast lottery results, you can also find the winning lottery results on your official lottery website. If you are trying to find winning numbers for the Powerball, Mega Millions, or Euromillions games, you can log onto their official websites. If you are not a fan of your official lottery website, there are other ways to find winning lottery results online. To find lottery results, you can search for them in a popular search engine like Yahoo or Google. To do this, simply search for "lottery results" and insert your specific state name. You can then choose from the available sites to find the site that best suits your interests. When you get to the website, you simply find the game you need numbers for and see if you've won!

Pick Up the Telephone

If you cannot find a nearby TV or computer with internet access you may be able to find your numbers by calling the lottery hotline. Many state lotteries have hotlines you can call to receive your winning numbers. The number for the state lottery hotline, if it exists, will be found on the back of your lottery ticket. However, be careful when using these hotlines. Many states charge $1-$3 for calling the hotline to find out what the winning lottery numbers are.

Buying Lottery Tickets

Now that you know how to find out if you've won the lottery, all you have to do is buy your ticket. There are many ways to purchase a lottery ticket. One way is to log onto your official state website. These sites explain how to purchase tickets, and often times tickets can be purchased online so you can play most state lotteries from the comfort of your own home. You can also refer to official state websites for custom lottery news. Many sites offer lottery number generators to help make your lottery number picking easier for you. If you would like to purchase your tickets in person, you can also visit a local lottery terminal. No matter how you choose to purchase your tickets, or which tickets you choose to buy, you're bound to have some fun!
