Motorcycles have evolved to become faster, stronger and more stable machines that invite enthusiasts to speed at thrilling, even dangerous velocities in order to feel the rush of adrenaline.

With speedier and spunkier motorcycles revving at mind blowing RPM's, it is not surprising to find bikers zooming around at speeds around the world as it feels good to have a speeding machine under your control. The rush of air that sweeps across the face brings a feeling of adrenaline that is unmatchable. Bikers need to bear in mind the fact that speeding has the potential to cause instability and as such, defensive driving techniques should be undertaken to avoid mishaps.

This is the very excitement that motorcycle enthusiasts are flirting with, prompting Federal authorities and regulatory bodies to make it mandatory in most states for bikers to wear safety helmets. It has been observed that bikers without helmets rarely survive an accident's impact, and hence the importance to wear motorcycle helmets. Helmets have been found to not only safeguard the head from possible injuries, but they also help riders with a smooth and more pleasurable ride.

The material used for helmets is strong, often crash proof, while at the same time, light enough to be worn on long rides. The regulations in place for the manufacturing of helmets are carried out stringently to ensure that they serve their intended safety purposes.

Every manufacturer has to diligently follow the guidelines of Dot, placing a sticker on the rear of the helmet to add as an assurance of the veracity of the helmet being worn. It is mandatory for the manufacturers to display the year/month of manufacture along with the material that went into the production of the helmet.

Helmet manufacturers have been conscious of the fact that one doesn't take to wearing a helmet easily. They strive to make better helmets with better material and try to load it with better facilities in order to encourage more riders to wear them.

As a result of those conscious efforts helmets have gone through various attempts at innovation. Some of the stylish helmets you find these days are so dissimilar to the original models that should one compare them to the earliest models one will be amazed at the transformation.

Motorcycle helmets are consciously made attractive and a pleasure to own without compromising the basics and at the same time with added features like the cell phone attachments , scratch proof visors, form-hugging shapes and comfortable padding from within.
