Flying is fun. Boys love air borne things, especially planes; they go completely ga ga over it. Planes were created after a lot of trial and error. They still give trouble in the air and crash for no reason at all. You need to really know how to handle them, lest they go out of control. The latest in planes is the RC aircraft, which are radio controlled aircrafts. They are controlled by a transmitter which is in your hand. It is all remote controlled, which makes it so much easier to fly. It is basically mastering the knack, because besides that it is no big deal.

There are so many different types available, like small park flyers, helicopters, float aircrafts, jets, small and big aerobatic models, for the people who like to live dangerously. There are all types to suit your mood and skill. You can actually pick and choose what you want, according to your taste and the size of your wallet. They also have different kinds of engines, brushed or brushless electric motors, to internal combustion engines, and the very expensive gas or nitro turbines. Did you know these turbine engines can go up to 400 km/hr? They have really developed over the last fifty years.

They are become faster and are really great models. They no longer are considered toys, just to play around with. The model planes business has transformed itself into something huge and is catching on day by day. Those used to be the good old days when models were made from spruce, pine, fragile glue, or a tissue like substance called silk span. Today, besides a high quality balsa wood, they are made in plastic and also die cast iron or steel.

The variety is simply mind boggling. They are nowadays so hi tech and some have great mounted wings, while others have shorter wings. They have parts like glow plugs and pushrods, which could be cheap or expensive, depending on the quality. It was in the year 1903, in a beach off North Carolina, that a gentleman by the name of Wilbur Wright got the first plane into the air. Even though it lasted a few second, it was a benchmark for others who wanted to make the same attempt, but did not have the courage. Those were the days of the hot balloon. If you even go online, you will find an array of the models that are economical and those that are expensive. There is just so much to choose from. They are built so intricately, and with such fine detail, like the Cessna. You will never be able to figure out which is the original, and which is the duplicate, except maybe for the size difference. Take your pick and fly away. This is what flying is all about.
