One of the more difficult types of instruments to play is the saxophone. From jazz musicians to Bill Clinton, it has been played by people classified as smooth by those who hear them play.
It is not surprising to hear that because the saxophone is considered the coolest instrument there is by many who play it, as well as many who do not.

Many children, after either seeing it on television or hearing it on a song, will decide that they too want to learn how to play the saxophone. However, the problem with saxophones is that they are not cheap. So, you can go and buy an expensive saxophone for your child after they see Lisa Simpson play it on The Simpsons, however this presents a problem. If your child shines to the saxophone and loves it, then you have money well-spent.

However, as any parent can tell you, children do not often stay on one thing for a long period of time. This is an issue when you spend a few hundred dollars on a saxophone for your child and they decide a month later they enjoy playing video games more than they do practicing the saxophone for an hour each day.

So, what can you do to nurture their gift with the saxophone? The best option is to buy a used saxophone. A used saxophone is an excellent option because you will not be paying anything near what you would for a new one.

This presents an opportunity for parents to buy the saxophone for their child because they will pay hundreds less, sometimes as low as $50, for the same type of saxophone, just newer.
When your child, if they decide to, stops using the saxophone because they are now bored with it, you will not be out a lot of money. Instead, you will be able to sell the saxophone for near or slightly below what you paid for it. This would not happen with a brand new one, and you would lose hundreds of dollars in that situation.

As for where you get a used saxophone, the best option is to visit a pawn shop, which are often full of them. They will cost much, much less and pawn shops can be found all over the city where you live.

When you buy a saxophone for a child to learn on, you are giving them one of the most complicated instruments in existence. This means that your child had better enjoy playing it, because if you bought a new one and they stop playing it, you will be out hundreds. This causes unneeded pressure on the child, and before you know it they hate playing the saxophone.

Instead of allowing this situation to happen, you should take the measures to buy a used saxophone for your child. It will cost much less and you will not have to worry that if your child stops playing it, you will be out hundreds when you sell it.. If anything, you will make a slight profit or be out $20 or $30 dollars. That is a much easier price to bear.
