Business and golf are synonymous. It is said that 8 out of 10 people that play golf are in a business decision making position and that playing golf with clients offers an 85% better chance of securing a business deal than other conventional methods of marketing or promoting your business. These impressive statistics make a strong case for including golf in your marketing strategy. Corporate golf days can benefit your client acquisition rates, client retention rates and staff morale. So what is involved in a corporate golf day, where can you have a corporate golf day and how much will it cost?

What is involved in a corporate golf day?

Corporate golf days differ from a normal round of golf in that they supplement a normal round with additional extras. Ordinarily a corporate golf day will include company signage as well as personalised and branded scorecards. These give the golf experience a personal touch dedicated to your business. Typically the corporate golf day will also include a scoreboard that enables a large number of players to keep up to date with the scores of the other players in the competition. This provides a touch that is reminiscent of professional golf tournaments and is an effective way of increasing friendly competition between the participating golfers.

The main benefit of a corporate golf day is that the golf course will usually provide staff to organise the day along the lines a professional tournament and create a really memorable event. The whole day can be organised to allow adequate time for a light breakfast, a lesson from a professional, a full round, a three course meal and finally a presentation ceremony. It is therefore an excellent introduction for golfers of all abilities.

Where can you have a corporate golf day?

Corporate golf days can be hosted at many golf clubs across the country. Of course it goes without saying that some courses have more experience delivering golf days than others and it is important to pick one that will be able to achieve what you expect from the day. For example if you want to host a large event with many golfers it is vitally important that the club you choose have the right level of experience in hosting events. It is less important for smaller golf days as these are generally easier to manage. It is also important to be clear with what you expect from the day. For example you may wish to have the event filmed or recorded by a photographer and it is important that you request this in advance.

How much do corporate golf days cost?

There is an enormous range of variables in a corporate golf event and as a result the cost can vary massively. If you are looking to host a top of the range corporate golf day then the price can be as high as you are willing to pay. Conversely if you want a cheap and cheerful event then you can keep costs low by cutting down on the additional extras. Top end packages can cost as much as 1045 pounds per person per day with top end packages starting at around 450 quid. Basic packages can range between 75 GBP and 290 GBP. London and the South East of the UK generally demands higher prices with Wales and the North offering cheaper rates.
