There is much more to do in Florida than to just visit Disney World. If all of the theme parks just aren't your style then why not take advantage of a few other great attractions in Florida? There are a variety of water parks which will keep you entertained all day such as "Wet n Wild", "Blizzard Beach" and "Typhoon Lagoon", each with its own unique features which is why you will want to visit them all! If you're on a family vacation there are a number of family fun activities such as visiting Sea World to visit the world's famous "Shamu", and see the brand new show "Believe". You will be amazed!
Just to say you have seen it you need to visit the world's largest McDonalds which also has the world's largest McPlayPlace (the kids will love it!) which is located just off Sand Lake road exit on I-4. You can't miss it!
The Kennedy Space Center is a must if you have some extra time in Orlando. Located about an hour's drive east from the theme parks you can learn about the history of space as we know it. You will be taken through the journey from the Saturn V Rocket to the Apollo Moon program. You can also check out the Astronaut Training Experience including the gravity and g force simulators. Be sure to find out when the next shuttle launch is planned and be sure to watch it. You can even see it take off as far away as Orlando!
Want to show your kids the fun of learning? Jump down to Wonderworks science museum which puts the fun back into learning how things work. You wont want to leave and will agree it's money well spent as at the end of the day everyone's learning and having fun. If only they would adopt that method back in your home town.
There are a lot of sporting activities you can take part in from miniature golf to the next generation wind tunnel which has become increasingly popular. If you're wanting to take part in that we recommend reservations as it can get very busy during the holiday season. If you get down early enough you can check out a previous group taking part and see what you're in for. There is so much to do in Orlando that when you think you have done everything, more then likely you haven't even touched the surface.
