What are the differences between a formal dress and a semi-formal dress? Formal usually means the same as Black Tie, but in some trendier cities like New York or Los Angeles, it could mean a black shirt, no tie with a tux. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates.Semi-formal is the trickiest of all dress codes. Usually it means that tuxes are not required, nor are long dresses. An evening wedding (after 6 PM) would still dictate dark suits for him, and a cocktail dress for her. Daytime semi-formal events mean a suit for him and an appropriate short dress or dressy suit for her.

I have a Christmas party coming up and I would like any suggestions on bag and shoes that goes well with a black velvet mandarin collar, Asian accents dress. You will need a black handbag, say purse size, even a clutch bag. Shoes, I would wear either small ankle boots with a heel or a high heel sandal, strappy shoe, again with heels. The color of the shoes and bag will have to be silver or black.

A cocktail dress can be long or it also can fall into a mini, of course you have to have the legs to wear it. If you do wear it shorter a good sheer pantyhose is so important, and the higher heel will help to end. Black is a great color! It goes with everything; an all black outfit is very chic. It will look fabulous to wear black dress, black sheer tights and shoes, perhaps a little higher then you would normally wear.

The best outfit to attend the opera. People wear all sorts of things to the opera, so you don't have to wear a certain thing except if it is opening night, because this is when everyone dresses up. You want to wear something smart, go for a little black dress if you have one, and if you want something more comfy and still chic wear a suit, and spice it up a bit with heels and accessories. As for a dress, go for not a full length, a simple cocktail length dress would be perfect. As for jewelry go simple. A pant suit with a shawl would be a good choice. Everything is ok to wear, as long as it is not the opening night.

I bought this lovely all red satin and chiffon knee-length dress. I plan on wearing gold sandals and a gold evening bag. I have a beautiful red wrap to use at the church. I think your ensemble sounds very classy. However, be careful not to overuse the gold. Don't wear large or chunky jewelry, and definitely no gold hoops. Keep your jewelry and all other accessories to a minimal since the gold sandals and evening bag will draw attention to them.

Remember that what you feel good in is the correct outfit for you ok! Fashion is what you want it to be!
