The winter period can mean a lot of pleasure, but for many, this season means D-vitamin deficiency which on the other hand leads to anxiety and depression. We humans depend on the Vitamin D that we get from the sun. During the winter time our part of the world lies in darkness, which in turn leads to vitamin D deficiency.

Lack of D-vitamin leads to many complications. Some of them can be severe depression or osteoporosis. The depression is because we do not get enough sunlight, then our bodies can not take up enough vitamin D and we get vitamin D deficiency.

Our bodies may indeed store large amounts of D-vitamin, but unfortunately not so much that we can stay all winter. This in turn leads to that we, in the end of the winter or beginning of spring, do not have any D-vitamins in our bodies and we get vitamin D deficiency. In that case we have to eat nutritional supplements or health foods that are rich in vitamin D. Eating that helps us to prevent depression, anxiety and osteoporosis caused by lack of D-vitamin.

Depressions and anxiety attacks are extremely common in our part of the world, during the winter months. Unfortunately enough, many of us do not know that these attacks and depressions can be easily cured and prevented by eating nutritional supplements and health foods with vitamin D. Nutritional supplements with vitamin D is the perfect solution for anyone who wants to feel better in the winter period. Eat more vitamin D and you will notice a significant difference.

All of us have probably heard of the concept of spring-depression and spring-anxiety. Some probably even think it is odd that you can become depressed during the most glorious period of the year. In fact, it is not surprising that you can. When the spring arrives, the body throughout the winter spent out the stock of vitamin D to keep the level fairly constant. Thus, the final stock is empty in the early spring and the depression deposit. Depression and anxiety attacks caused by lack of vitamin D is very dangerous for the mental health as well as the physical health, but it can easily be prevented with a small intake of vitamin D each day.

When doctors discovered the link between spring-depression and vitamin D deficiency they began to prescribe the, so called light therapy. This form of therapy simply meant that the patient had to sit in a very bright room, wearing all-white clothes. This was to make the patient fill upp the stock of vitamin D in the body with healp from the bright lights and the all-white clothes. Today, developments have taken place and we know that nutritional supplements and health foods with vitamin D is cheaper and gives better results.

For light-skinned people, it is good to eat extra supply of vitamin D from September to May. For a dark-skinned person, it is important to eat vitamin D throughout the year.
