The communication capabilities of telecommunication channels can be classified by bandwidth. This is the frequency range of the channel, which determines the channel's maximum transmission rate. Data transmission rates are typically measured in bits per second (BPS). This is sometimes referred to as the baud rate, though baud is more correctly a measure of signal changes in a transmission line.(http://www.watchcopiez.com) Replica Watches

Transmission Speed. Voiceband or low-speed analog channels are typically used for transmission rates from 300 to 9, 600 BPS, but can now handle up to 1 million BPS (MBPS). They are usually unshielded twisted-pair lines commonly used for voice communications, but are also used for data communications by microcomputers, video terminals, and fax machines. Medium-band or medium-speed channels use shielded twisted-pan" lines for transmission speeds from 9, 600 BPS up to 10 MBPS.

Broadband or high-speed digital channels allow transmission rates at specific intervals frorn 256, 000 BPS to several billion BPS. They typically use microwave, fiber optics, or satellite transmission. Examples are 1. 54 million BPS for Tl communications channels developed by AT&T and up to 100 MBPS for satellite channels used by many large private communications networks.

Transmission Mode. The two modes of transmitting data are called asynchronous and synchronous transmission. Asynchronous transmission transmits one character at a time, with each character preceded by a start bit and followed by a stop bit. Asynchronous transmission is normally used for low-speed transmission at rates below 2, 400 BPS. Synchronous transmission transmits groups of characters at a time, with the beginning and end of a character determined by the timing circuitry of a communications processor. Synchronous transmission is normally used for high-speed transmission exceeding 2, 400 BPS.
Switching Alternatives. Regular telephone service relies on circuit switching, in which a circuit is opened to establish a link between a sender and receiver that remains open until the communication session is completed. In message switching, a message is transmitted a block at a time from one switching device to another. This method is sometimes called store-and-forward transmission because messages may be temporarily stored by the switching device before being retransmitted.

Packet switching involves subdividing communications messages into groups called packets, typically 128 characters long. The packet switching network carrier uses computers and other communications processors to control the packet switching process and transmit the packets of various users over its leased lines. Packet switching networks are also known as X. 25 networks, which is the international protocol governing the operations of public packet switching networks. Packet switching is most widely used by value-added networks.

Access Methods. How can terminals and other devices access and share a network to transmit and receive data? A variety of access methods are used to provide this capacity. In the polling approach, a host computer or communications processor polls (contacts) each terminal in sequence to determine which terminals have messages to send. The sequence in which the terminals are polled is based on the communications traffic expected from each terminal. Thus, the transmission of each terminal is based on a "roll call" of each terminal on the line. Polling can be an effective method because the speed of mainframe and communications processors computers allow them to poll and control transmissions by many terminals sharing the same locations. So in this section, we will explore the many types of telecommunications applications that enhance the communications and coordination, and thus the collaboration of end user work groups and their organizations.(http://www.watchescat.com/B-Replica-Omega-Watches-51.html) Replica Omega Watches
