Feature articles are slightly different from news stories. While news stories aim to provide just facts about a certain event or situation, feature articles offer a bit more. They're written with the aim to entertain and add color and depth to the story.

Here's how you can create compelling feature articles:

1. First thing to do is to choose topics for your articles. It's important that you go with those ones that are current and those that are extremely interesting to your target audience. Focus on human interest. The emotion and the feel you put on each of your article are critical in giving your audience great reading experience. Don't waste your time on "science stories" that offer nothing but facts. Instead, try to explore angles of a particular story that will target your readers' emotion.

2. Headlines. Start by creating a working title for your feature articles. This is crucial as this can limit the scope of your content early on. Ensure that your headlines are well-written, benefit-driven, descriptive, and very short. Remember, you only have 2-4 seconds to capture the attention of your target audience so you better make the most out of it.

3. Write your introduction. Write your introduction with the aim to entice your audience to read on. Hook them in by using emotions, descriptions, drama, and even compelling questions. Give them a valid reason to read your articles until the end. For example, you may promise them that they'll be able to increase their knowledge on a particular subject if they read your articles in their entirety.

4. Write your article body. Make sure that you write your article body in such a way that you'll be able to fulfill all the promises that you've made on your titles and introduction. Make it easy to understand and load it up with all the kind of information that are needed by your readers. Write it using your high level writing skills so you can easily impress your audience.

5. End strong. While your introduction will hook your readers in, your conclusion must be written in such a way that your audience will not soon forget about your story. Make sure that you use powerful, strong punch line that will linger in their minds for a longer period of time.

6. Use active voice. The last thing that you would like to happen is to put your readers to sleep. So, don't make your articles sound very weak by using active voice all the time.

7. Be accurate. It's very important that you get your facts straight as you don't want to misinform or mislead your readers. I suggest that you find time to verify all the data that you've include in your article before you even think about submitting them for publication.

8. Keep your readers in mind. This is something that you need to do all throughout the process. What are the things that they consider most important in their lives? What is their level of comprehension? What put them in a position of needing your expertise? Why would they spend their precious time reading your articles? What are their learning needs and how can you possibly address these?
